Sport Massage
Sport Massage
Sport Massage is an effective therapy for individuals seeking relief of pain from repetitive strains or sprains that have built up over time in specific soft tissue and muscle areas. It is different from a Deep/Swedish massage because it is more targeted, focusing on the areas of the body that are most used and stressed during physical activities. Sports massage is a type of deep tissue massage that can be used for athletes, active people or people with stiff joints
Technique and Benefits
Our skilled therapists utilize stretching of neck, arms and legs to release muscle tension. After stretching, deep stroking and kneading using firm pressure is done to access the deeper layers of muscle tissue. Massage techniques used are effleurage, petrissage, deep transverse friction, kneading, wringing, trigger point. This technique allows for the release of stubborn knots, tension, and adhesions that may have built up over time. By targeting these deep-seated issues, Sports massage aims to alleviate chronic pain, improve flexibility, and enhance overall mobility.
Sports massage can help with injury prevention, increased flexibility, reduced lactic acid buildup, reduced cramping, loosening muscle knots, improved blood flow and reduced swelling. Prior to the deep tissue work, the muscle is prepared through gentle assisted stretching techniques and the application of heat. This preparation helps to relax the superficial muscles and increase blood flow, making it easier to access the deeper layers without causing discomfort. If needed, cold towels, CBD oil or biofreeze gel may be utilized to relieve inflamed muscles to reduce pain. By combining preparatory methods with precise pressure, our therapists ensure a therapeutic experience tailored to your specific needs. Conditions Treated:
